The Lord with a divine smile on his face is in a reclining posture on the coiled five-headed serpent king, Adisesha. His head rests on a marakkal (a unit of measurement) with his right hand near his crown and his left hand extended straight on his body. The left leg is slightly tilted and raised while the right leg is stretched out. This posture is metaphorical to the Lord lying on the ThiruParkadal(ocean of Milk). With Moolavar behind, the Urchavar is standing in front on a lotus peetam with his consorts, Sridevi to his right and Bhudevi to the left who are in their sitting posture. Ranganayaki(the presiding goddess) is standing separate on a lotus peetam next to Bhudevi.
