Description
This hand made Tanjore Painting of Perumal of Srirangam temple is made with original 22 carat gold leaves and gems.
The lord is in a standing posture on a lotus peetam with his right hand blessing the devotees and the left hand holding a ‘gada’. He has a chakra in the rear right hand and a conch in his rear left hand. He is adorned with a big garland and ornaments all over him . His consorts sridevi in to his right and Bhudevi to the left in a sitting posture. The Goddess sridevi holds a bloomed beautiful lotus flower and the right hand
blessing the devotees, Goddess Bhudevi holds a nilotpala flower in the right hand and the left hand directs to her feet. Both the Goddesses are adorned beautifully with ornaments all over.
There is a Prabhavali to the back and lotus flower at the top.
The God and the Goddesses have sported ‘Kasturi’ tilakam in the forehead. ‘Kasturi’ is
a liquid extracted from the stomach of kasturi deer.
This traditional painting with meticulous art work is made on a waterproof plywood and fixed to a chettinad teak wood frame and covered with unbreakable fibre glass.
