This Wooden Natarajar statue is made by Karuppaiah sculptures on customer’s request. The Lord is in his signature posture dancing within a cyclically closed arch of flames. His right leg is on a demon – Muyalakan, upper hand holds an udukkai in damaru mudra, and fire in the upper left hand. His right palm shows abhaya mudra and left bent downwards at the wrist, palm facing inwards. The left arm crosses and concedes his chest. He has Ganga devi and crescent moon on his top. A cobra uncoils from his right forearm. The long matted tresses are loose and flying out in thin strands. The pedestal is double-layered, shaped rectangular at the bottom and the oval above it.
