This handmade Tanjore Painting of Balambigai is made with original 22 carat gold leaves and gems. This eight year old Goddess in seated on a big blossomed white lotus with the right leg folded and the left leg falling to the ground. She holds a rudraksha mala in the rear right and palm leaves in the left. The front right hand is in the blessing pose and the left facing to the ground. The plaited black hair is to the front adding beauty to the picture. The Goddess is adored with jewels all over with sun and moon beautifying the head. She has worn a big colourful garland of fragrant flowers. The Goddess in surrounded with artworks. This traditional painting with meticulous art work is made on waterproof plywood and fixed to a chettinad teak wood frame and covered with unbreakable fibre glass.
